The Community Block Party hosted by Asbury United Methodist Church is a faith-rooted, community-centered outreach designed to bring neighbors together through service, connection, and care. This free, family-friendly event creates a welcoming space where love is shown through action and every person is met with dignity and respect. Held in the heart of downtown Frederick, the Block Party serves hundreds of individuals and families by combining celebration with access to essential resources. The day includes food, music, children’s activities, prayer, and fellowship—alongside practical support such as school supplies, health information, community services, and connections to local nonprofits and businesses that are invested in the well-being of our community. At its core, the Community Block Party reflects Christ’s call to love our neighbors by meeting real needs while building authentic relationships. It is not simply an event—it is a visible expression of faith lived out through generosity, hospitality, and unity. If any organization would like to table at the event, please let me know. If any business or organization from the Christian Chamber of Commerce would like to support financially in any way it would allow this outreach to grow in impact by helping underwrite food, supplies, activities, and logistical needs while also demonstrating how faith-driven businesses can partner meaningfully with the church to strengthen families and neighborhoods.
