Founder & CEO, Sunday Morning at Savannah’s & Sunday Morning Coffee

Savannah Mitchell is a visionary entrepreneur, hospitality leader, and community builder whose work bridges the art of coffee, the elegance of Southern hospitality, and the power of cultural connection. She is the Founder & CEO of Sunday Morning at Savannah’s (SMAS), a boutique bed & breakfast, event center, coffee lounge, and wellness spa located in New Windsor, Maryland, and the Founder of Sunday Morning Coffee, an award-winning Black woman-owned coffee roasting company recognized for its artisanal blends, national partnerships, and community impact.

Her entrepreneurial journey began with a childhood love of coffee and hospitality, which blossomed into a lifelong passion for creating experiences that bring people together. She started Sunday Morning Coffee from scratch, bootstrapping the business into a certified minority-owned company generating $250,000 in revenue within three years. The company has since been named 2023 Business of the Year, recognized as the Best Coffee Roastery by the Baltimore Times, and selected as the official coffee supplier for the LPGA in 2023 and 2024.

With SMAS, Savannah has expanded her vision into a multi-faceted hospitality venue, offering luxury accommodations, curated culinary experiences, a coffeehouse that serves as a community gathering space, and an event center, which hosts weddings, corporate events, and cultural celebrations. Savannah is deeply committed to economic empowerment, youth mentorship, and building generational legacy.

Educated in the School of Business at the great Howard University and a proud recipient of executive education programs from Goldman Sachs 10KSB, Dartmouth/Tuck executive program, Johns Hopkins CCL, Roger Williams University CVS program, and Babson College BWEL program, Savannah is an infinite learner and in her relentless pursuit of excellence.

Savannah is passionate about creating spaces where hospitality is more than service — it’s a ministry of care, connection, and dignity. She is actively engaged

in organizations that promote diversity and entrepreneurship, including WBENC, NMSDC, the US Black Chamber, and the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce.

At the heart of her work is a clear purpose: to leave a generational legacy for her children while empowering her community through excellence, elegance, and hospitality.

Sunday Morning at Savannah’s is a sophisticated, boutique hospitality destination nestled in a beautifully restored 200-year-old manor in Carroll County, Maryland. We are a Black woman-owned bed & breakfast, coffee lounge, and event center offering curated experiences that make every guest feel seen, valued, and celebrated.

Our property features four uniquely themed guest rooms, a cozy artisan coffee lounge, serene porch spaces, and indoor and outdoor event areas accommodating up to 200 guests. We specialize in weddings, retreats, showers, milestone celebrations, and bespoke experiences such as barista workshops, cooking classes, wine tastings, and porch reservations.

In addition to hospitality services, we proudly operate Sunday Morning Coffee, our signature specialty coffee brand, with blends available onsite and online. We are deeply committed to community engagement— weekly senior gatherings, writing salons, and events honoring veterans and local heritage.
